Destin, FL

Welcome to paradise and the crown jewel of the Emerald Coast! Not only has Destin long been known as “The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village”, but also has been Florida’s best kept secret…until recently.
Inhabited by Native Americans for over 1,000 years, explored and mapped in 1693, it was in 1935 when a Connecticut fisherman settled here and so the story began. Always being known as a sleepy fishing village, it finally became official in 1984 when the city received its charter. Over the next 10 years, people like myself (mostly from neighboring southern states) quickly realized that the places we used to consider to be beautiful beaches, were simply a warm-up for the real thing….Destin.
Another 10 years after that, we were finally on the map and had grown into a major vacation destination and resort town. There’s nowhere else that has this powdered-sugar white sand and crystal clear, emerald-green water, so our town and vacation properties literally exploded. Although we only have about 14,000 permanent residence between Destin, Miramar Beach and Sandestin, we have well over 70,000 homes, condos and townhomes to accommodate our new neighbors and very welcomed guests. We have something for everyone, whether that be our superlative boating & watersports, fishing, beaches, golf, shopping or fine dining. So come on in, your family is waiting and the water is fine!
