Many of my friends kiddingly call me “The Major of Destin”, which always makes me smile. It was during my first year in Atlanta in 1987, that I first came to the Emerald Coast of Florida and was completely blown away. I’m not sure how long I stood there with my jaw dropped and frozen in time, but I was sure I had never seen such a beautiful beach anywhere. I was hooked! It took me 17 years to get here, but I finally made it almost 16 year ago…. which was the best decision in my life.
